The American Woman's Society of Certified Public Accountants (AWSCPA) is a professional non-profit organization comprised of Certified Public Accountants or other aspiring for such license, united in facing the challenges affecting women in the profession. The Society provides a supportive environment that promotes equity and provides opportunities for the achievement of career goals in a competitive and rapidly changing profession.
The Society is a national organization of individual members with a network of independent affiliate groups throughout the country. Since its creation over seven decades ago, AWSCPA has been the voice of women in the accounting profession.
Founded in 1933, it is the only organization devoted exclusively to the support and professional development of women CPAs through education, networking and support, the Society is a leader in addressing concerns such as gender equity, the glass ceiling, and work and family issues.
